Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd was established as an exempt Charitable Trust, in 1953 by three local Horsham Residents, Elspeth Polly, Arnold Page, and Joyce Knight. The house at 88 Hurst Road, was purchased in 1955 and opened for business in October 1956. The home was extended over the years to provide accommodation for up to 35 Residents including 2 rooms for respite care.
Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation established in 1953 by three Horsham residents and opened its doors in 1956 to provide homes for the elderly. The Home is managed by a dedicated team of Volunteer Trustees and a Senior Management Team, who convene monthly as a committee to ensure the highest standards of care are provided. The day-to-day operations of the home are overseen by our General Manager, Care Manager, and Administration Manager, who work collaboratively to create a nurturing environment, a real home from home.

At Heathfield (Horsham) Ltd, we are proud to employ a skilled team of kitchen staff led by two qualified chefs. Our menu is designed with the Residents in mind, gathering their preferences annually to curate the Summer and Winter menus, complemented by additional choices for lunch and desserts. The kitchen operates around the clock, ensuring that if a Resident desires a snack or drink outside of regular mealtimes, our attentive staff will be ready to accommodate their requests. Breakfast is served in the comfort of their rooms, while lunch and supper are enjoyed in our welcoming communal dining room. We provide a comprehensive laundry service at no extra cost, alongside a convenient newspaper delivery service for Residents wishing to keep up with the latest news or enjoy a good read. Regular services such as Chiropody and Hairdressing are available on-site at a reduced cost, with our dedicated hairdressing salon ready for Residents to visit every Monday. We also offer a weekly shopping service to assist Residents with online purchases, and our on-site Residents’ shop stocks everyday essentials for those in need.
Our home boasts a spacious walled garden, beautifully landscaped with lush lawns, vibrant shrubs, trees, and an array of flowers, providing ample seating areas for family, friends, and visitors to enjoy. Additionally, a generous patio area surrounded by colourful blooms offers another lovely spot for relaxation. Residents and their families can indulge in delightful tea and cake served in the garden or on the patio, depending on their preference. The garden features a charming summerhouse, soon to be transformed into a vintage tearoom, where Residents and their guests can unwind and savour their time together.
The Home is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and is subject to inspections at any time. Our most recent inspection in 2023 proudly received a “GOOD” rating across all aspects of care, including safety, effectiveness, responsiveness, compassion, and leadership, with the report accessible on the Care Quality Commission website. Moreover, we have achieved an impressive rating of 9.8 out of 10 based on feedback from Residents and their friends and family, which can be viewed on www.carehome.co.uk.
